Dr Ivana Pajkic
Ivana is a fully registered Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist with over 18 years’ experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Prior to opening her private practice in 2009, Ivana worked in the public sector including tertiary, occupational rehabilitation, drug and alcohol and family services. In 2022, Ivana commenced her Jungian psychoanalytic training.
As a Generalist Psychologist, Ivana aims to help people learn how to deal with life’s many challenges, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, obsessive and/or compulsive thoughts and behaviours, self and body image, eating disorders, grief, loss, life transitions, trauma, parenting and relationship difficulties.
As a Psychotherapist, Ivana works relationally creating a safe and holding space in each session. Her extensive experience shows that when the space feels safe it is possible to work through the challenges people bring to therapy. Ivana is passionate about working with people who have experienced complex trauma in childhood or later in life. Applying a deep and inward exploration, Ivana helps people understand how the challenges affect their thoughts, feelings, behaviours, decisions and relationships. The goal of her work is to help people understand where their difficulties come from, what they mean and how to deal with them.
As a psychologist with a special interest in Couples Therapy, Ivana utilises an Emotion Focused Approach which emphasise exploration of negative and chaotic cycles couples find themselves stuck in repeatedly. This approach helps people engage with, and learn how to communicate, their feelings in a non-judgemental way that expresses their relational needs and wants.
Ivana accepts Medicare referrals and payments through private health insurance funds. Requests for TAC, WorkSafe, NDIS and Centrelink based services and court assessment and reports are not accepted.
