Jessica Standen

Master of Professional Psychology

Jessica is a psychologist who engages clients in a therapeutic relationship with a warm, empathic manner. She values practical interventions that can support clients to reach collaboratively identified goals in therapy. Jessica has a background in crisis support and community services. She works with adults and adolescents.

Jessica has developed an understanding of clients who have experienced family conflict, social disadvantage and complex trauma. She provides a calm, safe, focused environment where clients can explore the issues that bring them to therapy. Jessica seeks to understand a client’s unique circumstances and works collaboratively to provide counselling that best meets their needs. Areas of interest include mood disorders (depression and anxiety including postnatal depression), relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, anger management, behaviour change, school refusal, parenting stress, trauma and stress.

In counselling she uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,  Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Interpersonal therapy to facilitate meaningful change within her clients.

Referrals are currently accepted for adolescents (over 12 years) and adults. Jessica is available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
