Jessica Standen
Master of Professional Psychology
Jessica Standen is an experienced psychologist who fosters a warm, empathic, and collaborative therapeutic relationship with her clients. She values creating a safe space in the therapy room for clients to reflect on their inner experiences and better understand themselves and their circumstances. She offers adaptable, evidence-based interventions, meeting the client’s specific therapeutic needs. The experience in the therapeutic space has the aim of empowering clients to work toward meaningful, jointly identified goals in therapy.
Jessica offers a calm and focused environment where clients can explore the concerns that bring them to therapy. Jessica also works with neurodivergent clients, including those with Autism and ADHD, with a particular interest in the female presentation of neurodiversity and the ways this may differ from traditional diagnostic profiles. She has experience supporting individuals who have encountered family conflict, social disadvantage, and complex trauma. With a commitment to understanding each person’s unique circumstances, she works collaboratively to tailor support that best meets their needs.
Her areas of interest include mood disorders (such as depression, anxiety and postnatal depression), autism and ADHD, life transitions, personality disorders, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, anger management, parenting stress, and other stress-related concerns.
In her therapeutic work, Jessica draws on a range of evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to support meaningful and lasting change.
Jessica currently accepts referrals for adolescents (12+ years) and adults. She is available for appointments on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings.
